Common Sandpiper

Common sandpiper admiring its reflection. This little sandpiper has a wide and extensive range where it occurs, in varying degrees, in 5 of the 7 continents! Together with the spotted sandpiper, they form the genus Actitis. They are parapatric species; they replace each other geographically but are sometimes (rarely) found in the same location.
